The government is now introducing a number of restrictions in 18 municipalities after the number of infections has recently risen. This applies to Copenhagen, 16 municipalities in the capital area and in Odense.
The new restrictions mean, among other things, that the assembly ban will be lowered from 100 to 50 people.
In addition, opening hours at restaurants, cafes and other places are limited to midnight – today they can be open until 2 o’clock.
The planned expansion of the possibility of having spectators for super league matches and other events is also postponed . For the time being, the restrictions will apply for the next 14 days.
We are in the most worrying situation since the spring, says Minister of Health Magnus Heunicke (S), who also calls for increased awareness of the distance recommendations in the public space, in the restaurant and entertainment industry and in cultural life.
It is also recommended that social events in primary schools , secondary education and higher education be canceled.
Copenhagen is currently up to 40 infected per 100,000 citizens. There have been more than 1,000 cases of infection nationwide in the past week – the highest level since the spring.
In 82 out of the country’s 98 municipalities, new infections have been found in recent weeks. It is a completely different picture than this summer, where many municipalities for weeks did not register a single new infected.
Additional test facilities
In recent times, there has been a special focus on Odense, where an outbreak of infection has been centered around educational places in connection with the start of studies.
More than 1,000 teacher students have, among other things, been sent home, and mobile test units have been sent out to the educational institutions. Since yesterday, 19 new cases have been registered in Odense.
