Teenagers Between 13-19-year-olds Have Been Tested Positive For Coronavirus – Kåre Mølbak

The Danish teenagers were encouraged to think better because several have been found infected.

This was the voice of Danish teenagers from Kåre Mølbak, medical director of the Norwegian State Serum Institut (SSI), on Thursday.

The opinion fell because a much larger proportion of 13-19-year-olds, according to Kåre Mølbak, have been tested positive for coronavirus in April than before.

In weeks 12 to 14, according to Kåre Mølbak, four cases of coronary infection were recorded per 100,000 teenagers. In weeks 15 to 17, that number more than doubled, so there are now 11 cases per 100,000 population in the age group.

But one has to be careful to make a comparison of those periods, points out Søren Riis Paludan, professor of virology and immunology at Aarhus University.

In mid-April, the test capacity was dramatically increased, so that people with mild symptoms could also be tested for coronavirus.

Looking at the figures from the State Serum Institute’s own reports, it is precisely in mid-April that the number of infected persons in the age group 10-19 years takes a good turn upwards. In week 16, far more 10-19-year-olds were tested than before – and to that extent, it infected the number of confirmed cases.

That is why I think it is best to make an opinion only when you have at least two test results collected on the same basis, says Søren Riis Paludan.
