Half of US states see rise in new coronary cases

Corona Virus

That a civilized country ends where the United States is now is screaming to the skies, says the US correspondent.

While the number of infections in some US states is declining and New York on Tuesday entered the second phase of the reopening, the picture is something else in large parts of the United States.

Half of the US states have registered a higher number of new coronavirus infections over the past 24 hours than a week ago, CNN writes .

And the high numbers are causing concern for Dr. Robert Redfield, director of the United States Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The nation is on its knees, he says, estimating that the country will have to spend seven trillion dollars to get the virus under control.

Record on record

While 25 of the country’s 50 states have measured more new infections compared to last week, in the states of Texas, Arizona and Nevada, new daily infections have also been set. For example, Texas could set a new record on Tuesday with over 5,000 new infected in one day, The New York Times writes.

In other states such as California, South Carolina, Mississippi, Utah and Louisiana, there has also been an increase in the number of new cases. Florida has just passed 100,000 positive tests, the BBC writes .
