Denmark’s savings friend welcomes tonight’s summit negotiations.
Throughout the night, EU Heads of State and Government have been negotiating across Brussels.
But despite the intense and dramatic negotiations, they remain in deep disagreement over the new corona recovery fund and the next long-term budget on the table.
That is why Charles Michel, President of the European Council, has now given the leaders time off until 4 pm, so that they can get a few hours of sleep and clear their minds before the next round.
The summit has been going on since Friday morning, and in the last 72 hours there have been high-pressure negotiations in the Belgian capital.
It is especially the Recovery Fund that will boost European economies again after the corona crisis, which has created great divisions during the night.
