There will be no nightlife in the two cities in the first place.
Bars, restaurants and cafes or other pubs in Aarhus and Silkeborg are not allowed to stay open until 2 o’clock as in the rest of the country, but must continue to close at midnight.
This is stated by the Ministry of Health to DR .
In the past week, the health authorities have had a special focus on Aarhus and Silkeborg, and local measuresto prevent the spread of infection, writes the Ministry of Health:
– On the basis of the health authorities’ recommendation, it is therefore also stipulated in the new executive order that the new provision on extending opening hours for restaurants, bars, cafes and the like from 24 to 02, shall not apply to Aarhus and Silkeborg municipalities.
On Friday, the parties in the Folketing agreed on an agreement on phase 4 in the reopening of Denmark. Here they agreed, among other things, that parts of the nightlife – but not discos and nightclubs with dance floors – can stay open until 2 o’clock at night.
It is not yet known when pubs in the rest of the country will be allowed to stay open until 2 o’clock. However, it is also subordinate in Aarhus and Silkeborg, which are two of the municipalities that have had the most registered cases of coronavirus recently.
‘I’m really sorry’
Christian Engbirk owns Café Drudenfuss in the Latin Quarter of Aarhus. He had been looking forward to extending the opening hours of his guests. But it was laid in the grave when one of his employees tonight could show him that it would not be possible.
– I’m really sorry about that. They had come up with a possible and good solution that addressed some of the problems that were, by us having to close at 24, he says.
