Spain Has The Lowest Number Of Corona Deaths Since March 18

Corona Deaths

In the past 24 hours, 164 corona-infected persons have been confirmed dead in Spain. In total, over 25,000 have lost their lives.

For the first time in almost seven weeks, Spain recorded less than 200 coronary-related deaths in a single day on Sunday.

Over the past 24 hours, the country’s Ministry of Health has thus confirmed 164 deaths with coronary infection. That’s the lowest number since March 18.

The figure is good news for Spain, which has been severely affected by the corona virus.

The outbreak in the country peaked in late March and early April, with daily corona death rates approaching 1,000.

A total of 25,264 coronas infected people have died during the outbreak in Spain. That equates to almost 54 deaths per 100,000 population.

In comparison, Denmark has about 8.2 deaths per 100,000 population.

I was allowed to go out again

On Saturday, for the first time in seven weeks, the Spaniards were allowed to walk on the streets to exercise after long periods of isolation in their homes.

Among them was 45-year-old Mar Visser from Castelldefels near Barcelona.

I’ve been longing for this. It’s better than running in my house or practicing yoga or pilates inside, she said Saturday.

The partial reopening of Spain is happening, at a time when the health care system is gaining a foothold after a busy period.

‘New normal’ in late June

On Tuesday, Social Democratic Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said he was working on a four-phase plan. It will bring Spain to “the new normal” by the end of June.

It must also help to boost the economy of the country again.

A total of 217,466 people have been confirmed to be infected with coronavirus in Spain. It is only surpassed by the United States worldwide.

The coronavirus initially broke out in the Chinese million city of Wuhan in late 2019. Since then, it has spread to countries around the globe.

Globally, over 3.4 million people have been confirmed infected, while approximately 244,000 infected people have been killed. It shows the latest statement from American Johns Hopkins University.
