Two children have been found dead in a home in Norway

It was at 8:30 on Sunday morning that the police received an alarm about a suspected fire at an address in Norwegian Lørenskog.

Two children were found dead at the scene. Their mother was found injured,  writes Verdens Gan g.

The police started heart and lung rescue on the children but it was in vain and they were pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman has been taken to hospital with serious injuries, according to Norwegian media.

The police are investigating suspected crime in connection with the incident and residents in the area are asked to stay indoors, writes VG.

To the newspaper, the supervisor Marit Furuseth says:

– We received reports of a water leak that could come from a sprinkler system, that is the reason why the police rushed to the scene, she says.

The police announce that they are now looking for a person in the nearby town of Rælingen. The person is linked to the suspected deaths in Lørenskog, writes Romerikes Blad.

This is a major operation with armed police.

At 13.17, the police announced, on Twitter, that they had investigated an address in Rælingen.

In the afternoon, a crisis meeting will be held in Lørenskog municipality, the newspaper writes.
