Travel continues to be discouraged to all countries of the world

Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The countries of the world are still painted orange on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ map. Unnecessary travel is not recommended.

Denmark continues to discourage all unnecessary travel to the whole world.

It shows updated travel guides from the State Department on Thursday.

Both the Vatican City State and Finland meet the criterion of low infection. However, Finland is still orange due to entry restrictions for travelers from Denmark

The Vatican City State is therefore the only place in the world where the Ministry does not discourage all unnecessary travel.

The two Norwegian regions Rogaland and Troms and Finnmark have also experienced increasing infection rates. Therefore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs now encourages self-isolation if one has resided in the regions.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises against traveling to a country if there are more than 30 new infections per week per 100,000 inhabitants. The infection pressure is measured as an average over 14 days to reduce excessive fluctuations.

In Sweden, Norway and Schleswig-Holstein in Germany, it is important to look at the infection pressure at a regional level instead of the whole country.

In Norway, there are still five regions that still have less than 30 infected per week per 100,000 inhabitants.

These are Agder, Møre og Romsdal, Nordland, Trøndelag and Vestfold and Telemark.

Nevertheless, all unnecessary travel to the whole of Norway is still discouraged. They do this because there is quarantine for travelers from Denmark and the Faroe Islands.

However, the rule of entry quarantine is waived for the Faroe Islands on Saturday night.

Thus, the whole of Norway is also orange, even though the five regions are in principle yellow.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs updates weekly travel guides for countries in the EU / Schengen as well as the United Kingdom. This is done on the basis of the latest infection figures from the Statens Serum Institut.

– The statement from SSI shows that the infection rate in seven countries has fallen compared to the figures from last week, most markedly in Ireland, Belgium, Iceland and the Netherlands, the ministry writes about the latest figures in a press release.
