The Ministry of Foreign Affairs again advises against unnecessary travel to Bulgaria.

This is stated in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ updated travel guide for Danes, which is updated every Thursday. The new recommendation comes because more than 30 infected people have been registered per year. 100,000 inhabitants in the last week.

“We are now discouraging all unnecessary travel to Bulgaria because Bulgaria no longer meets the criteria for low infection rates in the EU and Schengen travel guide model,” it said.

The criterion is part of a Danish model for when travel to a country is no longer discouraged and prepared, among other things. on the basis of infection rates from the Statens Serum Institut.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs thus advises against all unnecessary travel to Bulgaria, Luxembourg, Portugal and parts of Sweden due to the infection rates.

However, travel to several Swedish regions is open. A total of 12 areas of Sweden have now been approved, while travel to nine regions is still discouraged.

The guide is relaxed to five Swedish regions Jämtlad Härjedalen, Sörmland, Uppsala, Örebro and Östergötland in addition to the regions Blekinge, Halland, Kalmar, Kronoberg, Skåne, Värmland and Västerbotten.
