The EU Now Recommends The Use Of Face Mask In Trains

DSB states that they follow the Danish Health and Medicines Authority’s recommendations.

On Tuesday, the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and the European Railway Agency updated their recommendations and guidelines for train travel.

And here is the recommendation now that a bandage should be worn if the distance requirements cannot be maintained:

– The use of face masks is strongly recommended for both staff and passengers on trains and at stations. And especially when the ideal distance of one and a half to two meters is not possible, the new recommendations state .

In addition, the recommendations state that train staff must be trained in how to use the masks in the best possible way, and that it must be possible to buy masks at stations and dispose of the used ones in a responsible manner.

Furthermore, the recommendations continue to state that passengers should try to “keep as much distance as possible”.

The National Board of Health does not change recommendations

However, the new recommendations from the EU do not make the Danish authorities change their advice and restrictions.

– We are aware of the report from ECDC, and our assessment is immediately that the recommendations in it align very well with our revised recommendations. The National Board of Health refers to the fact that on 9 July they updated their assessment of the use of sanitary napkins in public spaces. Here it sounded that you can generally move without the use of a bandage, but can use it in some situations:

Mouthpieces can be used to protect others in some special situations where the other tools to prevent infection are not enough. (…) When you go to the hospital to be tested, you can not keep your isolation in the meantime. Therefore, we recommend that you put a bandage on in that situation, said Deputy Director Helene Probst in a press release .
