The demand for face mask is spreading to several East Jutland municipalities

The number of people infected with covid-19 has been rising recently. This is now leading the authorities to introduce requirements for face mask in five East Jutland municipalities.

The number of people infected with coronavirus has recently been increasing in Denmark.

This now causes the health authorities to focus on seven Danish municipalities and introduce requirements for face mask  in e.g. Silkeborg Municipality, informs Minister of Health and the Elderly Magnus Heunicke (S) at a press conference on Monday afternoon.

We have focused on seven municipalities, where the number of infections is over 20 per. 100,000 inhabitants. In addition to Aarhus, Ringsted and Silkeborg, this also applies to Glostrup, Nyborg, Solrød and Sorø, «says the Minister, who emphasizes that there is cause for concern and action in connection with the increasing number of infections.

The requirement for a face mask  applies in public transport, and in addition, the recommendation is that you use it in shopping centers, supermarkets and larger shops in Silkeborg Municipality. According to Ritzau, there are also demands for face mask in public transport in several other East Jutland municipalities.

According to the media, in addition to Aarhus and Silkeborg, this also applies to Odder, Horsens, Skanderborg and Favrskov.

“Even if you live in a municipality that is not mentioned here, it is important that you realize that the infection is still in Denmark,” says the Minister of Health.

The latest figures from the Statens Serum Institut show on Monday that Denmark has registered 76 new cases of infection with coronavirus. It is the first time in six days that less than 100 cases of infection are registered in Denmark in a single day.

In addition, the number of inpatients has fallen by two to a total of 23, while at the same time three new deaths have been registered.
