For the second season in a row, the last 16 of the Champions League was the final stop for Real Madrid.
Raphaël Varane had a terrible night when Real Madrid smoked out of the Champions League on Friday night.
The Madrid team lost 1-2 on the road against Manchester City, and both goals for the English were scored after a big mistake by the French defense star. The result means that the Spanish champions lost the round of 16 overall 2-4.

While Real Madrid for the second year in a row must leave the Champions League after the first knockout round. Manchester City, on the other hand, can look forward to playing the quarter-finals next week, where they face French Lyon, who sent Juventus out.
The rest of the tournament takes place in Portugal, and only a single match is played in the quarter-finals and semi-finals as opposed to the usual two. This is because the Champions League has been postponed for several months due to the global outbreak of coronavirus.
And in order to find a winner within a reasonable time horizon, the European Football Association, UEFA, has decided to compress the final part of the club tournament.
The Champions League final will be played on Sunday 23 August.
