The former Minister of Defense will not chair a committee to investigate a possible scandal in the Defense Intelligence Service.

The announcement is due to the fact that he, as former Minister of Defense, will not end up with impartiality problems when the control committee, as it is called in everyday speech, has to investigate a possible scandal in FE, the Defense Intelligence Service .
The unfortunate cases in FE, which came to the public the day before yesterday, date from a period when Claus Hjort Frederiksen himself was Minister of Defense.
Already in June 2019, Hjort was allegedly warned that something was wrong in FE, writes Ekstra Bladet. At the time, he was acting Secretary of Defense.
– I have chosen to resign as chairman of the Committee on Intelligence . I have been pleased to chair the committee.
– As a former Minister of Defense, I find it most appropriate that no questions of impartiality can be asked in connection with a forthcoming study of FE. That is why I have announced that I will resign from the committee, says Claus Hjort Frederiksen in a written comment sent to DR News and several other media .
