A 32-year-old man tried to drive away from police and ended up driving wrong with his four-year-old daughter in the back seat.

A car thief drove wrong on Saturday afternoon with his four-year-old daughter in the back seat as he tried to drive away from police.

This is stated in the Central and West Zealand Police’s 24-hour report.

At 5.35 pm, the traffic police wanted to stop the car for a routine check in Havdrup, but the 32-year-old man did not want that. He set the pace, but the police followed him.

At a speed that, according to the police, was significantly higher than allowed, he drove on a stretch of about five kilometers to Naurbjergvej. Here he lost control of the car and ended up in a field.

Both the 32-year-old man and the four-year-old daughter were unharmed.

Police immediately arrested the man and suspected him of being under the influence of both alcohol and drugs. He therefore had a blood sample taken, which must be examined for alcohol and drugs.

In addition, the man had already been denied the right to drive a car, so he was also charged with that. Incidentally, the car was fitted with stolen license plates.

When the man could not explain the car’s ownership, the police examined the car in more detail. As a result, police charged the man with unauthorized use of the car.

The man was released after questioning. The police have prepared a social report for the social authorities for the benefit of the four-year-old girl.
