This week, all adult citizens will have the opportunity to book their own time for a test in the white tents across the country. This is done as part of the national test strategy for significantly increased testing for covid-19.
This is what the Ministry of Health and Elderly writes in a press release .
We have brought the infection pressure down to a very low level. It is crucial that there are no hidden pockets of infection that can cause the infection to rise again, says Health and Elder Minister Magnus Heunicke (S).
Then you just have the slightest suspicion that you have been infected with COVID-19, then you should be allowed to test.
Young adults can book today
The scheme is being rolled out during the week. Already on Monday morning, 18-25 year olds can order a test, while the rest of the adult vintages will be admitted in the coming days.
Until now, it has required a referral from the doctor or employer before ordering a covid-19 test.
But over the next few days, the system is ready for people without symptoms via the website to book time in the test tents themselves if you want a test.
This happens after Danish testing capacity has been massively expanded over the past month with testing in hospitals, 16 white test tents and mobile test cars, which can, for example, drive out to nursing homes.
So far we have controlled access to testing quite tightly, but now we have the capacity to open to let the individual decide whether to test, Magnus Heunicke says.
However, it is important to remember that even if the test does not show a virus, you still need to pay attention to the hygiene and the distance, because in some cases there may well be viruses that the test cannot yet find.
