Aarhus’ mayor ready to reopen high schools – already tomorrow

Aarhus

Jacob Bundsgaard has been in contact with the ministry – and they say ‘good’ for gradual reopening.

Aarhus’ mayor, Jacob Bundsgaard, is ready to reopen the municipality’s high schools, which have been closed after an increase in corona infection in the municipality.

He says this after receiving a message from the Ministry of Health and the Elderly.

– They report that now high school students in Aarhus can to a certain extent and gradually return to the high schools. As early as tomorrow, half of the students can be physically present in the classes again, he says.

The Social Democrat mayor is happy with the announcement, calling it ‘nice news’, but stressing that the resurgence has not completely disappeared.

– It is good and an expression that the number of infections – or the increase in the number of infections – has decreased. But we are not at the finish line yet. We must still show high care and comply with the authorities’ recommendations and guidelines , says Jacob Bundsgaard.
