Summer package for DKK 700 million should help tourism industry.
For 299 kroner it will be possible to drive unlimited by train, bus, subway and light rail for eight days.
This is one of the things that is included in a summer package, which a broad majority in the Folketing has just made an agreement on. In total, the initiatives in the summer package cost 700 million kroner. The purpose is to increase the economy over the summer.
The Corona crisis has turned its head this summer well and thoroughly. There will be fewer tourists coming to Denmark, and more Danes will holiday in Denmark. So it is a summer package that supports the Danish summer country, says Business Minister Simon Kollerup (S).
However, there will be a ceiling on how many people will be able to buy the ticket for the eight days. Only 50,000 travel passes will be offered.
The agreement also means that cyclists and pedestrians can come for free with ferries.
In the past, the government has otherwise encouraged to restrict the use of public transport to restrict the risk of coronary infection, but now the politicians are ready with a number of blow offers.
There is a need for us in the government to help both the tourism industry and the many Danes who have been canceled on their foreign trips. At the same time, it is a good reason to support public transport and get passengers back, says Minister of Transport Benny Engelbrecht (S), who emphasizes, however, that it is important to continue to follow the recommendations of the health authorities.
The left’s business mayor Torsten Schack Pedersen believes that the millions can give to the summer country jobs.
We have had a strong focus on the package to support activities and Danish jobs. Tourism and experience economics are severely affected, says Venstres’s mayor.
