A 22-year-old man died on Wednesday afternoon
after several shots were fired earlier in the day in Brønshøj north of Copenhagen.
This is stated by the Copenhagen Police in a press release .
TV 2 has been in contact with an eyewitness who says it was a local, young man in his early twenties who was hit. Her daughter heard the gunshots, which she said sounded like a machine gun being fired.
“We suspect the shooting is part of a pending conflict, but as always, we are investigating broadly and do not exclude anything,” said acting police inspector Mads Helios.
Photos from the area show a parked passenger car – a dark Toyota – with multiple bullet holes in one of the side windows and a bullet hole in the rear window.
Conflict between two groups
The shooting has taken place just outside an area that police have already considered particularly vulnerable.
The police very much like to hear from witnesses who have been at the Wing and who have seen or heard something suspicious in the hours leading up to or after the shooting. Witnesses can contact police on telephone 114.
