This map shows the number of coronavirus patients in hospital in each of Denmark’s five regions. As of midnight on Thursday, Denmark had recorded 1,226 confirmed coronavirus cases and nine deaths due to the virus.
Since Denmark changed its testing policy on March 12, the official number of confirmed cases no longer reflects the true spread of the virus.
For that reason, we have decided to switch our map to tracking the number of patients hospitalised.
According to data issued on Friday by the Danish Health Agency SSI (Statens Serum Institut), 186 people were hospitalised due to the virus at midnight on Thursday, of whom 37 were in intensive care and 32 on a respirator.
