223,000 have already reserved a table: Several restaurants report sold out for the weekend

Saturday seems to be the busiest night at the country’s restaurants. However, the number of bookings is far from record high.

Since the politicians agreed late Friday night that restaurants, cafés and bars can open their doors from tomorrow, 223,000 Danes have put a cross in the calendar and booked a table.

It shows preliminary figures that the booking systems DinnerBooking and Easy TableBooking have drawn for DR News.

More than 850 restaurants use DinnerBooking and 330 restaurants write orders in the book using Easy TableBooking.

We had hoped that the numbers were even higher.

On the opening day tomorrow, almost 27,000 guests have booked in, while Saturday so far seems to be the busiest day with just over 41,000 bookings.

There may be more agreements in the book, but the total number of bookings can far from be compared with a random Saturday last year, before the covid-19 pandemic hit Denmark, it shows a comparison of DinnerBookings figures.
