The first stick is given on December 27: ‘It exceeds my wildest imagination’

Politisk flertal har indgået en aftale om en ny epidemilov

The plan has been presented at a press conference this afternoon.

All good comes to the one who waits.

And now it looks like the first Danes do not have to wait much longer for the first coronavina vaccine.

This is clear from the roll-out of the vaccine plan, which has just been presented at a press conference in Copenhagen.

Minister of Health Magnus Heunicke (S) says that the first Danes according to the plan will get the plug on 27 December. There will be nursing home residents who will receive the vaccine from the pharmaceutical companies Pfizer and Biontech.

The Danish vaccines have not yet been sent to Denmark, but will do so late on Christmas Eve or early at night on 25 December.

– The vaccines will be received at the Statens Serum Institut on Saturday 26 December between 08-12. Here, among other things, their quality is checked, and then they are shipped out into the country, says the Minister of Health.

Magnus Heunicke also says that Denmark has invested in buying an additional 2.6 million doses of Pfizer and Biontech’s corona vaccine. However, it is not known when it will be in Denmark.

The next vaccine we can expect in Denmark is Moderna’s vaccine . It is expected to be approved on January 6 and will come after that, the minister said.

Enthusiastic Søren Brostrøm

The director of the National Board of Health, Søren Brostrøm, says that if someone had told him ten months ago that they were ready to be vaccinated in December, he would not have believed it.

– That we can stand here on Christmas Eve and say that we will start on Sunday is absolutely fantastic. I must say.

– It exceeds my wildest imagination, he says.
