European Commission

The European Commission has agreed to purchase 200 million corona vaccines from Pfizer and BioNTech with the possibility of purchasing an additional 100 million.

This is stated by Pfizer in a press release.

The vaccines are expected to be delivered by the end of 2020.

The vaccines for the EU countries will be produced at BioNTech’s factories in Germany and Pfizer’s factories in Belgium.

“Our goal is to develop a safe and effective vaccine to help end this pandemic,” said Ugur Sahin, co-founder of Pfizer.

The other day, Pfizer was able to tell that the vaccine is proving 90 percent effective in the first analysis of a phase 3 study.

Phase 3 studies are the final step before an approval from the authorities .
