The National Board of Health recommends that no more than ten people gather to celebrate Christmas and New Year. The ten people are including people in the household.
The Danish Health and Medicines Authority writes this in a new booklet with recommendations for celebrating Christmas during the corona crisis.
– It is important that we also at Christmas time insist on avoiding infection, Helene Probst, Deputy Director of the National Board of Health, in the announcement.
– It can be difficult because it is a time when we have many traditions that can be difficult to change. But I hope that you will be inspired by these recommendations, so that we can take the best possible care of each other.
It is recommended that you keep two meters away or go outside if you are going to sing on Christmas Eve.
– You can walk around the Christmas tree and sing with those you live with, but you should keep two meters away from others, it says in the booklet.
– If you gather several households for Christmas Eve, consider whether you can dance around the Christmas tree several times, whether you can take turns singing, or whether you can hum.
In addition, it is recommended that you avoid common bowls with Christmas snacks, chips and sweets – just as you should put hand alcohol on display and avoid using the same towel.
The National Board of Health recommends that you make your Christmas purchases online. And that you avoid congestion in the shops by utilizing the entire opening hours and only shopping for one person at a time.
Up until Christmas, it is recommended that you wish each other a Merry Christmas without meeting physically.
If you still want to meet people outside the household during December, then it is a good idea to meet outdoors, it sounds.
New Year’s Eve, the same guidelines apply as for the Christmas celebration.
