The suspected getaway driver behind the traffic murder of a five-year-old girl yesterday afternoon has been arrested.
This is stated by the Copenhagen Police.
The 21-year-old man has since yesterday been wanted and wanted by the police because he is suspected of having hit a five-year-old girl and her mother on Peter Bangs Vej in Frederiksberg. The girl lost her life and her mother was slightly injured .
The collision happened yesterday afternoon around 4pm, after which the driver of a Volkswagen Passat ran from the scene.
– Since the collision, we have worked intensively to find the suspect and now arrested man, as we have a strong suspicion that it was he who drove the car and afterwards fled the scene, says Chief Police Inspector Jørgen Bergen Skov in a press release from Copenhagen Police.
– In this connection, we have carried out a number of investigative steps, and have, among other things, searched several addresses in the metropolitan area , and this has overall led to the arrest tonight, he adds.
The man will be produced in constitutional interrogation tomorrow, where police will request closed doors.
