SAM SMITH SAYS THEY WANT TO HAVE CHILDREN BY 35: ‘I WANT TO BE MUMMY’

Sam Smith has revealed their desire to have children by the age of 35.

The “I Feel Love” singer, currently 28, said they want to start a family soon and watch their children grow.

During an interview with Apple Music‘s Zane Lowe, Smith, who last year came out as non-binary, said: “I want kids. I want all of it. I want to have kids.

“I want to be with the kids and I want to watch them grow and be with them every day. I want to be mummy.”

Smith continued: “I’m definitely going to do that at some point, but I’ve still got more in me. I’ve still got ambition.

“I try and settle it down all the time and play it down, but I’m ambitious and I would still want to sing to people and do this job. It’s an amazing feeling.”

The “To Die For” singer also said they would like a partner first, adding that it is difficult to meet people in London.

“I’m going to work my ass off until then [and] hopefully find a boyfriend — but they’re absolutely nowhere to be found anywhere in London,” Smith said.

“I’ve been searching all over the place. Honestly, I’ve been on the frontline now for a good three years and it’s exhausting.”

Smith went on to speak about coming out as non-binary and how they feel less afraid since doing so.

“It sounds cliché to say it, but I feel so free. I feel so unafraid of failure, unafraid of my imperfections,” they said.

“I don’t feel a lot of fear at the moment, because I just feel like I could do everything wrong and it would still be okay because I’ve got my own back. I really have my own back, and that’s a lovely feeling to feel.”

Smith added that they have developed a lot of patience since coming out as non-binary and dealing with people who mistakenly call them by “he/him” pronouns.

“I’ve had to just go into myself and try and deal with it in a real kind way and patience, and just know that everyone’s working on this,” Smith explained.

“It’s going to take time. We’re changing a language here.”

In a recent interview with The Sunday Times Style, Smith opened up about their experience with body image in recent years, stating they have “always had body dysmorphia”.

“As I started to address that, I started to address my gender and realised that I was holding myself to these ideals of how a man should look,” they said.

“I have girl’s thighs and I have girl breasts too. It started to awaken this conversation that had always been in the back of my mind.”
