PSG beat Leipzig to qualify for the Champions League final

PSG

The stars from Paris Saint-Germain were a class better than RB Leipzig in the first semi-final of the Champions League.

For the first time in history, Paris Saint-Germain is ready for the final of the Champions League.

Led by stars Neymar and Kylian Mbappé, the French team won superiorly with 3-0 over RB Leipzig and Yussuf Poulsen.

The Dane wore the captain’s armband in the match, which, like the others at the finals, was played in Portugal’s capital, Lisbon .

In the final, the opponent will be either Bayern Munich or Lyon, who will meet in the second semi-final on Wednesday night.

With the rich owners from Qatar at their backs, PSG have spent billions of kroner on players in the last decade, and a triumph in the Champions League has been the big goal.

In this year’s quarterfinals, it was close to going wrong as Atalanta were ahead until a few minutes ahead of time. But the French turned the showdown around, and they took the tailwind to Tuesday’s showdown.

PSG’s stars were quicker in thought and action and created major problems for Leipzig’s defense.

Mbappé and Neymar in particular were in hopla, and the two created the first big chance after six minutes. Mbappé found his Brazilian teammate, who kicked the ball on the post.

However, it was not one of the two, but midfielder Marquinhos, who scored the first goal of the match.

A free kick from Neymar was panned into the net by the compatriot, and then the first part of the pressure was relieved from the shoulders of the PSG stars.

Poulsen and his teammates occasionally looked past at the other end, and the Dane could with a little luck have equalized when he received a flat post in the field midway through the first half.

But the striker shoveled the ball past the goal, and instead PSG went to the break with 2-0. With three minutes left in the half, Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi donated the ball to PSG.

It was punished promptly when Neymar cleverly found Angel Di Maria, who easily kicked the 2-0 goal flat into the net.
