Actor Forest Whitaker has reacted sadly to the massacre recorded on Tuesday at the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, around 70 miles west of San Antonio.
An earlier publication shared on www.Ghbase.com culled from the BBC revealed the gripping report oof how an 18-year-old male called Salvador Ramos stormed the school and killed fourteen pupils and a teacher.
The suspect was armed with a handgun and an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle, two law enforcement sources have confirmed to the BBC’s US partner, CBS News.
He also had high-capacity ammunition magazines when he entered the school, according to the sources. The suspect is dead and was believed to have been killed by officers sent to the scene.
According to Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Ramos abandoned his vehicle and went into the school armed with a pistol and possibly a rifle. “He shot and killed horrifically, incomprehensibly, 14 students and killed a teacher,” Abbott said.
Reacting to this sad event, Whitaker tagged the shooting as ‘senseless’ and wile insisting schools should be places of peace where for all children
Today, my heart broke when I heard of the deaths of the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Texas. I cannot fathom the shock and pain of their families and community. This is senselessness that must stop.
Our schools should be places of peace where our children and teachers find a safe space for the future generations to grow and blossom. This makes me sad and this makes me livid with anger at the same time. We have a moral and political responsibility to end this epidemic of mass shootings.
