The person who won a huge Eurojackpot yesterday is overwhelmed and wishes to remain anonymous.
The winner of the biggest win in Danish history of DKK 760 million has now appeared.
Danske Spil has spoken to the lucky Eurojackpot player, who wishes to remain anonymous.
– This is huge, huge. Imagine that it is precisely me who is sitting with the right winning numbers, and that I am so incredibly lucky to have won the biggest prize in Danish history of three quarters of a billion Danish kroner. I can hardly believe it.
The winner has not yet made up his mind about what the winnings will be used for.
– I am looking forward to speaking with Danske Spil’s millionaire advisor, so that my family and I can start a completely new chapter of our lives and I wonder if we should at least take a trip out into the world with the children, says the overwhelmed winner to Danske Game.
Malene Mølgaard, director of Danske Lotterispil, tells DR that they heard from the winner around lunchtime and that the person was completely overwhelmed.
– He is a very, very happy person who is in a completely new place in his life now compared to yesterday.
– Now a process starts where the person is immediately transferred DKK 200,000, and we do this so that you can feel that you have won a little – so there is actually something in the account. And then a longer process starts, because you can’t just transfer 760 million, says the director of Danske Lotterispil, which is the part of Danske Spil that offers, among other things, the Eurojackpot.
It is also Danske Spil’s recommendation for winners like the lucky one to remain anonymous. In addition to receiving the offer of millionaire advice, the winner will also be invited into Danske Spil’s “millionaire club”, says Malene Mølgaard.
– You are invited to some events during the year together with other millionaires. We find that they generally think it’s nice to meet because you meet someone who has experienced exactly the same thing, she says.
It is only the second time in history that a person in Denmark has won the maximum Eurojackpot pool.
In addition to the winner of the prize of DKK 760 million, there are two other Danes who have won DKK 50 million. One has been found and lives in North Zealand. The other has bought a coupon in Svendborg, but has not yet approached, says Malene Mølgaard.
