Germany introduces a 14-day quarantine requirement for travelers from the Capital Region. This is stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Citizen Service.
The change, which came into force on Wednesday evening, is due to increasing spread of coronavirus in the Danish capital region.
However, until October 1, travelers can be exempted from quarantine claims if they can present a negative corona test. The test must be a maximum of 48 hours old.
Upon arrival in Germany, in future, if you come from the Capital Region, you must fill out a form with a number of information about residence in Denmark and residence address in Germany.
If you are traveling to Germany by car, please contact the local health authorities immediately upon arrival.
If, on the other hand, you travel by plane and have not had the opportunity to take a coronate test before departure, you can take a coronate test until 1 October upon arrival at the airport in Germany.
After this, you must be quarantined until you have tested negative.
There is usually between 36 and 48 hours of waiting time for a corona test in Germany, according to the Danish travel guides to Germany.
Flensburg Avis wrote earlier on Wednesday that the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs is also considering introducing travel restrictions in connection with travel to the rest of Denmark.
This happens because many areas in Denmark have more than 50 new cases of infection per 100,000 inhabitants during a week.
This applies, for example, to Copenhagen, Ringkøbing and North Jutland.
50 per 100,000 inhabitants is the German limit for how to take extra precautions.
According to the North German radio station NDR, any stricter travel instructions for the rest of Denmark will mean that everyone traveling into Germany from Denmark will have to be tested upon entry.
And in addition, quarantine requirements will be introduced until a negative test can be presented.
