Swedish authorities advise against travel to Norway

The Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs will open for travel to ten countries from 30 June. Norway is not on the list.

Swedish authorities have advised against travel that is not strictly necessary for all countries, but is now open for travel in Europe, the government said at a press conference Wednesday afternoon.

The fact that we are now beginning to change the advice does not mean that the situation has changed. It is still a serious situation, says Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde.

From June 30, the Swedes can travel to Greece, Croatia, Spain, Italy, Portugal, France, Iceland, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg.

Various factors have affected which countries it is possible to travel to. The spread of infection in the different countries has weighed heavily.

Travel to other countries, including Norway, is still not recommended.

Nordic countries are kept out because they do not want to let the Swedes in, Expressen writes. Foreign Minister Linde says it is the quarantine regulations that make Sweden unable to open travel to several countries.

No changes in travel restrictions
There will be no changes to the travel restrictions imposed by the authorities as a result of the pandemic. This was announced by Justice Minister Monica Mæland (H) at the government’s press conference on Wednesday.
