Google acquitted in case of job advertisements

Google did not infringe copyright, as users could read job advertisements via the search engine without clicking on the job portal Jobindex.

The Maritime and Commercial Court has decided that today, writes Ritzau.

Google had been taken to court by the industry association Danske Medier with a demand to pay five million kroner.

But according to the judgment, Google is not a competing company for the job portal, and according to the court, Jobintex itself had data that enabled a search engine to display extended search results such as the entire job advertisement, writes Ritzau.

Jobindex has now been ordered to pay DKK 1.7 million in court costs.
