Canadian superstar Drake has lost a $300,000 bet after Canada lost by 2-0 to Argentina in the Copa America semifinal.
With the total odds of $9.60, Drake stood to gain an estimated payout of $2.88 million had Canada defeated the reigning world champions, Argentina.
Drake shared his bet slip on his Instagram account on Tuesday afternoon, captioning it with a playful yet optimistic message: “This could get Messi @stake.”

This is the second time Drake is losing a bet this year after losing a $565,000 bet on Tyson Fury to defeat Oleksandr Usyk in May.
Eight-time Ballon D’or winner, Lionel Messi and Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez scored the goals for Argentina at New York’s MetLife Stadium on Tuesday night propelling the team to the final.
Argentina will face the winner of the semifinal clash between Uruguay and Colombia which will be played on Wednesday, July 10.
The highly anticipated final is scheduled to take place at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, on Sunday, July 14.
Meanwhile, Canada will compete for third place against the loser of the Uruguay vs. Colombia match.
