A review says the deceased did not have adequate protective equipment.
A few weeks ago, 39-year-old Swedish nurse Marielle DeBruhl was tested positive for coronavirus. Four days later, she was found dead in her home.
Police have now launched an investigation into the death, writes Aftonbladet . This happens after receiving a notification that the deceased did not have adequate protective equipment at his workplace.
Marielle DeBruhl worked in the lung department at Karolinska University Hospital in Huddinge, Stockholm. Before her death, she had taken care of patients infected with coronavirus.
Inadequate protective equipment
The hospital’s safety representative has submitted the notification. Here it is stated that the protective equipment in the hospital does not meet the requirements of the health authorities.
A prosecutor explains treating the case as a work accident. He compares the case to a fall accident on a construction site.
The investigation must determine whether the nurse’s own manager or the hospital management has neglected to ensure the safety of the employees.
It is unknown why Marielle DeBruhl’s illness progressed so strongly .
