As expected, voters have voted for Joe Biden as the next president of the United States.
In the United States, many states on Monday completed their counting of the so-called electoral votes.
And it came as no surprise to a victory for Democrat Joe Biden, who has secured at least 302 voters against Donald Trump’s 232. To win the election requires at least 270 voters.
In state after state, the electors gathered and cast their votes for the one of the presidential candidates who won a majority of the votes in those states.
The next nail in the coffin
Normally, it is a mere formality, but this year there was far more attention paid to voters because President Trump refuses to acknowledge that he has lost the election.
The president has repeatedly claimed that there has been large-scale fraud. But he has not been able to present any evidence in the courts.
According to TV 2’s US analyst, Mirco Reimer-Elster, the result of today’s vote is the next big nail in the coffin for Donald Trump:
– I do not know if there is room for more nails in Trump’s political coffin. We are now up to as many nails as the United States has states. Today’s vote, however, is a bigger nail in Trump’s coffin than the many legal defeats. However, that hardly prevents Trump from continuing to articulate the fantasy narrative that he won the election.
