Two men have died after a serious traffic accident on Djursland motorway

Two men, aged 20 and 83 respectively, have died after a collision on a motorway on Djursland. A 20-year-old man and an 83-year-old man both died immediately after a violent traffic accident on the motorway at Rønde on Djursland.

The East Jutland Police writes in a press release .

Monday morning at 07.57, the police received a report of a “serious traffic accident” on the motorway between Randersvej and Flintebakken.

According to the police, the preliminary investigations of the accident site indicate that a collision occurred when the 20-year-old motorist was driving in an easterly direction and wanted to overtake a truck and in that connection hit the oncoming 83-year-old’s car. Subsequently, the 20-year-old collided head-on with an oncoming truck.

Both men’s relatives have been notified, East Jutland Police writes in the press release.

The motorway on the section in question has been completely blocked in both directions since the accident, and the East Jutland Police write that both rescuers and police continue to work on the site.

A car inspector has been called in to investigate the details.

According to the police, the road is still blocked, but the queue in connection with the accident has been settled and traffic is directed around the accident site.
