Pentagon spokesman John Kirby confirmed on Twitter that at least one other explosion had taken place at Kabul airport. This happened near the Baron Hotel, which is near the first explosion.
Kirby also says the explosion at Abbey Gate at the airport has resulted in several injured Americans and civilians.
