The first Danish plane is on its way home from the evacuation in Afghanistan

14 Norwegians and a person with legal residence in Denmark are on their way with a Danish plane from Islamabad in Pakistan to Copenhagen, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs Ritzau.

Islamabad serves as a base for the evacuation of Danes from Afghanistan, where the Taliban have regained power.

The agreement to rent the plane was about to expire. Therefore, it has been relieved around 9 pm Danish time, even though there are few passengers.

When there are no more involved, it is because it is a difficult operation right now, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs.

On Tuesday, a Danish military plane landed in Kabul with Danish diplomats working at the airport.
