The Danish National Board of Health notifies third corona vaccine shot to first Danes in a week

After a lengthy approach and scrutiny of studies, the Danish Health and Medicines Authority is very close to starting to give the third dose with corona vaccines – but only to a small group of Danes in the first place.

In the coming week, a small group of Danes can expect to be offered a third dose of corona vaccine.

“We expect to revaccinate those who have very weakened immune systems e.g. patients undergoing active chemotherapy, organ transplant recipients and persons with severe immune disorders. We expect to have more precise guidelines next week, and then we will start with that group, “says Helene Probst, who is also ready with a bid for the next group in the queue for later in the year.

Until now, there has not been a single common global line to follow when it comes to dispensing the third dose of coronary vaccine – also called revaccination or booster dose.

In the US, for example, the government announced on Wednesday that it recommends a third dose for everyone and expects to roll out that effort by September 20th.
