When the politicians in Randers this afternoon began the first consideration of next year’s budget, they were met by hundreds of citizens who protested against the savings proposals that the officials in the municipality have proposed to the politicians.
Randers is tight on finances and must find savings of around DKK 125 million, and there were, among other things, many people from Vorup Children’s and Youth Center.
The house’s chairman Maria Thuesen fears a closure.
– Right now I am worried that the savings catalog states that we will lose our operating subsidy. We have a whole lot of children from six to 18 years old who have to find another place to be, she says.
The Social Democrats also propose that the tax in the city should increase by 0.2 percentage points, while the Liberal Party rejects it.
