Police investigation against Erna Solberg – violated corona restrictions

Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg has found herself in a headwind after violating the country’s corona restrictions in connection with her 60th birthday celebrations. The Norwegian police are now investigating the Prime Minister’s actions.

It was when Erna Solberg was to celebrate her 60th birthday with the family that a total of 13 people visited a restaurant together, which NRK reported on. Erna Solberg herself missed the restaurant visit, but on a later occasion she, in the company of 13 people, is said to have had dinner in an apartment. The limit for how many people can gather at private events was then ten, according to the Norwegian infection control rules.

The Prime Minister later apologized for breaking the restrictions, and emphasized that she was not aware that the party had broken the rules.

“Should have known better”

  • I should have known better, she has previously told NRK.

NRK now reports that Norwegian police are investigating whether Erna Solberg has violated the Norwegian infection control rules. The Prime Minister risks being fined if she is found guilty.

The restaurant visit and dinner in the apartment took place at the end of February this year.

Here are the new restrictions that Norway has introduced to stop the spread of infection.
