Infection continues to rise Germany: Schools and shops close ahead of schedule

More action is needed to reduce coronary heart disease in Germany, Merkel said.

The current measures against coronary heart disease in Germany have not worked well enough.

This is what German Chancellor Angela Merkel says , according to Reuters.

Therefore, the country is now launching further initiatives to reduce the number of people that people are each in contact with. The chancellor said this after a meeting with prime ministers of the country’s 16 states .

Both coronary heart disease and death rates have recently set new records with our German neighbors. It shows figures from Johns Hopkins University .

And that is what underlies the marked tightening of the rules in the country.

Germany will therefore close a large number of shops and schools from Wednesday until 10 January.

It is non-essential stores that need to close. This means that, for example, supermarkets and pharmacies can continue to be open.

Already on Wednesday , Merkel said that a tightening of the rules was necessary. There she talked about closing shops in the period after Christmas. Since then, there has been speculation as to whether the shutdown would happen sooner.
