Denmark is taking the biggest result since 2012

Denmark took advantage of the fact that they were a man in the lead for 58 minutes in the victory over England.

For the first time since 2012, Denmark managed to defeat one of the world’s four best nations in the world rankings.

It happened when the Danes on the road won 1-0 over England on a penalty kick scoring by Christian Eriksen. This is Denmark’s fourth match in a row, where they kept a clean sheet, and it was thanks in part to excellent actions in the goal by Kasper Schmeichel.

With the victory, Denmark is sure of a place in the finest company in the UEFA Nations League next year and still has the opportunity to win the group and thus play in the Final 4.

Denmark is number 16 on the world rankings. The last time Denmark beat the world number four was at the European Championships in 2012, when they won 1-0 over the Netherlands at the European Championships on a goal by Michael Krohn Dehli.

England 0 – 1 Denmark

  • Harry Maguire, red card (32 ‘)
