This is stated by Norwegian police in a press release on the night before Thursday.
Five people were killed and two others seriously injured on Wednesday night when a man started firing at people with bows and arrows in the central part of the city of Kongsberg southwest of Oslo.

The Danish man was arrested by the police in Kongsberg on Wednesday evening and then transported to the arrest in Drammen.

The police writes in the press release that they have felt compelled to go out with information about the accused, after a number of false rumors abounded on social media about possible perpetrators.

The police initially stated that the detainee was a 38-year-old Danish citizen. This was later addressed to a 37-year-old.
