Here you will find information about which countries currently meet the criteria for. COVID-19 infection and thus as a starting point is categorized as “open”.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs regularly relaxes the travel guides for those countries that meet the criteria in the new model for countries in the EU, Schengen and the United Kingdom. If a country has significant entry restrictions and quarantine rules for Danish travelers, then the travel guide will continue to advise against unnecessary travel (orange) regardless of whether the country is categorized as open based on the objective criteria. In relation to entry into Denmark, persons residing in countries that are categorized as open will be able to enter as tourists in Denmark with effect from the coming Saturday at 00.00 after the update of countries in the EU, Schengen and the United Kingdom that meet the criteria for COVID-19 infection. Persons with a recognizable purpose will continue to be able to enter, regardless of whether the country is categorized as open.
There is a special mechanism for the Nordic countries. As Sweden meets the criteria for “open” countries, this is no longer shown separately, in the form of a map or table of Swedish counties. Read more about the criteria in the new model on the Ministry of Justice’s website.
Figure 11.1 shows the countries in the EU, the Schengen area and the United Kingdom.
Note that the colors on the map only relate to the objective criteria and thus do not relate to the color codes in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ travel guides.
