Copenhagen giant high school must close despite no infections, as 22 are infected in the parish

Schools, leisure schemes and youth education in St. Pauls Parishes in Copenhagen must close due to infection in the area according to the new, set boundaries that must trigger automatic school closure.

This has consequences at Gefion Gymnasium, where there are around 1,250 students – and no confirmed cases of infection.

– From tomorrow we are completely closed down at Gefion Gymnasium, says Rector Birgitte Vedersø.

– We have not been able to prepare the students for it. We have just sent out an email to all students and explained what the rules are. When the number of infections reaches a certain level in the area, we must close. And there is a huge disappointment about that, she explains.

Also the two primary schools Sølvgades School and Nyboder School must close after 22 cases of infection have been found in the last seven days in parish .
