The contagious virus variant, which originated in England, has been detected in two travelers in Norway. This is stated by the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH).
The health authorities in Norway have today detected the English virus variant in two people who came to Norway from the UK in December.
Both have been tested after developing symptoms and must now be isolated .
– The infection detection team in the municipalities will now follow up according to current routines for people who are detected in the English virus variant with extra testing and closer follow-up of close contacts to reduce the risk of possible further spread, says department director Line Vold at FHI in the press release .
