Abducted students in Nigeria are released

An armed group has released the last of the 136 students who were abducted from a school in northwestern Nigeria at the end of May, the school’s principal states.

The students have been released. We’re taking them home now. I can not give you an exact number, but there are no students still being held captive, says principal Abubakar Alhasan.

School staff say six students lost their lives in captivity, while fifteen managed to escape in June.
