From Tomorrow Saturday (14th August) it is over with face masks in public transports in Denmark

From Saturday 14 August, it is completely over with face masks in buses, trains, metro and on ferries.

This is stated by the Ministry of Transport in a press release.

According to the plan, the requirement to wear a face mask for standing passengers and at the entrance and exit of buses, trains, metro and ferries should not be lifted until 1 September.

But this change has been brought forward by about two weeks. This is because the distance requirement in public space was recently abolished.

This is what the Transport Minister Benny Engelbrecht (S) says about the dropped requirement for face mask:

Now we are in a completely different place, where a large part of the population has been vaccinated, and we are returning to a more normal everyday life. It also means we can say goodbye to the bandages in buses, trains and the metro.

However, the requirements still applies in airports because aviation follows common international guidelines.
