An elderly man had lost control of his car, and 11 people were injured, according to the police.
A motorist hit several people at a bakery on Sortedam Dossering close to Dronning Louises Bro in Copenhagen this afternoon.
11 people have been injured – including the driver himself – and two of the injured are in critical condition, Copenhagen Police informs DR News.
This is an upward adjustment from the first report, where the police wrote on X, that the collision occurred as a result of an accident:
– An elderly man lost control of his car. There are reports of five injured. Their condition is not yet known, it said.
Ambulance and police quickly showed up in large numbers.
– The emergency services are massively present on Dronning Louises Bro after reports of collisions with several people, it said earlier in the day from the Capital’s Emergency Services.
Drove into long tables in front of the bakery
According to eyewitnesses that TV2 has spoken to, the man drove into a group of people sitting on long tables near the bakery Lagkagehuset, which is located right next to the lakes in Copenhagen.
An area that is extremely busy on a sunny day.
A woman says that she herself was sitting by the lakes when a red car drove by and made a sudden turn into the long tables in front of the bakery shop.
Queen Louise’s Bridge and the lakes in Copenhagen is a very busy place in the city, where many cyclists and motorists pass – especially in the afternoon, when there is rush hour.
